The team heads to New Jersey Motorsport Park located in Millville, N.J. for Rounds 5 and 6 of the 2014 Pirelli World Challenge season for the Touring Car classes. The 14-turn, 2.25-mile Thunderbolt Raceway road course marks the team’s first weekend at the facility.
P.J. Groenke returns after tough yet successful weekend at CTMP where he captured his first podium of the season in his No.66 Verax.ca/Tundra/Mulligan Gold TCB Honda Fit. Teammate Paul Holton continues to develop behind the wheel of the No. 65 Radium/TRUECar/Lucas Oil Honda Fit.
Shea Racing is pleased to announce Jason Cherry, of Gambrills, MD, as the newest member to the team. Cherry, a rookie driver in the TCA class has proven competitive in Rounds 1-4. Cherry comes aboard with his No. 13 Autism Society of America/Avpro/Purposeful Architecture Mazda MX-5.
“I’m excited to join the Shea Racing platform as this will be a great opportunity for me to further improve and establish as a driver and showcase my partners especially the Autism Society of America,” said Cherry.
Weekend Schedule:
Qualifying will start Saturday, May 31, 3:50 P.M. EDT, Race 1 on Saturday, May 31, 6:10 P.M. EDT and Race 2 on Sunday, June 1, 10:20 A.M. EDT. All races are 40 minutes in length and will be live streamed on www.world-challengeTV.com.
