Sep 19, 2012

Orlando, Florida – TrueCar Racing Pirelli World Challenge driver Shea Holbrook and professional wakeboarder Tarah Mikacich will enter their 2012 Hendrick Honda Accord in the 2012 FIREBALL RUN Adventurally; Northern Exposure, which kicks-off on September 21 from Independence, Ohio.

The Fireball Run Adventurally is a national live event and film series, headquartered at Universal Studios. The 8-day, 14 city, 2,200 mile interactive road rally and entertainment property supports the Race to Recovery of America’s Missing Children; the largest active recovery effort for missing and exploited children in the country. Each team is assigned a missing child from their home region along with thousands of posters to distribute along the route. A decal featuring the child is affixed to the vehicle, creating a rolling awareness campaign. To date, the effort has assisted in the recovery of 38 missing children.

Due to the signature cause, raising awareness for missing and exploited children, FIREBALL RUN and the Race to Recover America’s Missing Children has always had a strong following of women, especially mothers. In honor of our female followers, the 2012 Adventurally is celebrating women in professional sports. FIREBALL RUN selected Shea Holbrook to represent women in racing as she’s a part of TrueCar Racing’s Women Empowered initiative. In addition to being an accomplished racer and a strong female role model, Shea matches the Adventurally’s belief in purpose-filled fun.

Shea’s personality coupled with a commitment to professional excellence and helping others, as evidenced by her work with Duchenne muscular dystrophy project, made her a great choice for the FIREBALL RUN,” according to Executive Producer of the Fireball Run, JJ Sanchez.

“I was immediately on board when I heard the sole purpose of the adventure is to aid in the recovery of missing children. The Adventurally has already aided in the recovering 38 and I hope to add to that,” said Holbrook.

The breakout sport of wakeboarding has gained a lot of national attention and Tarah Mikacich, pro female wakeboard champion has what it takes on and off the wake as a real-life role model for young women wanting to make their mark.

“Girls coming up need to have a role model competing as strong as the boys, having it out there makes every girl want to push to do more- that’s the type of passion I am hoping to inspire,” Tarah said.

FIREBALL RUN is an opportunity for strong role models and their supporting brands to engage fans at live events as well as through social media. Holbrook and Mikacich have a variety of supports including, TrueCar.com, O’Brien Wakeboards, Hendrick Honda, Growing Champions for Life, Lucas Oil, Race4Girls, Livin Over Board, beatbyagirl.org, Live Your Legacy Summit, Ten-80, and Hangtyte.

Shea Holbrook and Tarah Mikacich will be raising awareness for the recovery of missing 2-year old Donald Jackson, from Naples, Florida. “We know Shea and Tarah will bring the same desire to the Race to Recover America’s Missing Children as they do in their own careers.” said David Hickman, FireBall Run EVP, Marketing.
